Arsenal fans have been told to follow the foreign office’s advice ahead of their trip to the Ukraine this week - after UEFA confirmed Thursday night's Europa League clash with FC Vorskla will go ahead as planned. Around 500 travelling fans are expected to make the journey to Poltava for the group stage game, with many having already started making their way to the city in central Ukraine, which sits about 200 miles east of Kiev. The match comes amid increasing political tensions between the Ukraine and Russia, after three Ukrainian vessels and their crew were seized by the Russian navy in waters off the coast of Crimea. Ukraine’s president Petro Poroshenko has since drawn up a plan to impose martial law in parts of the country close to border regions - a plan that has been backed by Parliament. But despite the political unrest, UEFA have insisted that the game - which kicks off at 5.55pm on Thursday - will go ahead as planned. And Arsenal are urging their fans who are attending the game to follow the advice given by the foreign office, which has been sent out to all those who have bought tickets for the match. Supporters travelling to Thursday’s game will also have to deal with some brutal weather conditions. The Butovsky Vorskla Stadium is currently covered in snow and ice, with a sheet placed over the pitch to try and keep the freezing elements at bay as best as possible. But temperatures in Poltava are forecast to reach as low as minus 18 on Thursday night when the game is due to go ahead.
